All recent news from British Sugar
4 February 2025
As we fast approach the end of the 2024-25 sugar beet campaign, we are delighted to share that we've already processed just over 80% of the crop. We'd like to take this opportunity to share our sincere thanks with all our growers, contractors, hauliers and partners across the homegrown sugar industry for their hard work so far this campaign - from a performance, yield and safety perspective.
The following dates are when we expect each factory to finish processing, but as always these are subject to change, dependent on weather, crop forecasting and site performance.
Looking ahead to the 25/26 crop, we can assure all our growers that research into Virus Yellows (VY) remains the highest priority for the industry. If you would like to read more about how we're working to protect our future sugar beet crops from VY, including our gene editing research, sustainable spray programme and a variety of other IPM methods, please click here.
We'd just like to wish everyone across the industry all the best for the final weeks of campaign.
