Water, energy and soil are vital resources to the long-term success of our business. Equally important are the resources we create through our advanced manufacturing processes, allowing us to extract as much value as possible from our core product.

That’s why we have invested over £300 million in transitioning our four sugar factories into advanced manufacturing plants over the past five years, with a focus on energy reduction projects, anaerobic digestion, product storage flexibility and environmental improvements.

ADVANCED PROCESSES DELIVER
A DIVERSE PRODUCT RANGE

In addition to the 1.2 million tonnes of sugar we produce annually, the eight million tonnes of sugar beet we process each year enables us to provide a diverse range of co-products that positively impact other industries.

Our advanced manufacturing processes enable us to produce 500,000 tonnes of animal feed from the sugar beet pulp, TOPSOIL and LimeX for soil conditioning. Through our combined heat and power plants, we export enough electricity to power over 120,000 homes, equivalent to a town the size of Peterborough.
